Construction Management
We believe it is essential that effective construction management is provided early in the design process so that construction buildability can be optimised at the start of a project. In doing so, we can avoid unnecessary bespoke design and maximise the ability to construct the project.

All too often designers do not have an appreciation of the build requirements from a construction or sequencing perspective, leading to design detailing that either cannot be built or is expensive to construct.

Effective construction management early in the design process has the benefits of:

  • Understanding buildability before planning and integrated it into design
  • Accurate programme from design to completion
  • Understanding of project phasing
  • Understanding of site constraints / impacts to be encountered as part of build programme
  • Integration of contractor knowledge / experience at an early stage
  • Experience of supply chain / market contacts
  • Understanding of construction preliminaries costs at early stage
  • Greater cost certainty earlier in the scheme development process
